Edwards Homestead Kitchen

The kitchen at the back of the house was likely added sometime in the mid to late 1800’s. By then many houses in the area had ‘summer kitchens’. Before that, cooking was done over an open fire where adjustments to the temperature and speed of cooking were controlled by raising the pot higher or lower above the flames.
